Young Concert Artists Series

Twenty-four-year-old Chinese pianist Ying Li is the First Prize winner of the 2021 Young Concert Artists Susan Wadsworth International Auditions, as well as recipient of The Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival Prize and the Tri-I Noon Recitals Prize. She has received top awards in numerous national and international competitions.

Music of the Jazz Age, features classics from the Jazz Age songbook made famous by the likes of Sophie Tucker, Louis Armstrong, Al Jolson, Fats Waller, Bessie Smith, Helen Morgan, Ruth Etting, and more. Come join Carole as she travels back to a time where flappers, vamps and sheiks were shimmying in gin joints as a whirl of great social and political change happened all around.

Nebraska Harp Workshop Retreat & Public Concerts

The Brownville Concert Series is partnering with Julie Smith Phillips, principal Harp San Diego Symphony, to offer an incredible learning opportunity for harp students desiring a Midwest retreat experience. 

Geared towards the intermediate to advanced player - high school, college, or beyond - participants will work on solo repertoire, orchestra excerpts and harp ensemble selections during the week of June 18 - 25, 2023 in Brownville. There will be daily classes, private lessons, evening concerts and a master class with guest harpist Doug Rioth, former Principal Harp of the San Francisco Symphony. The week will include a final concert on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Brownville Concert Hall and a Reception to follow at 4 p.m.  The public concert is FREE and ticket reservations are not required.

Concert goers can make charitable donations to support Retreat activities including support for partial scholarships toward tuition, room and board for retreat participants.

July 4th with The Brickhouse Duo

Join The BrickHouse Duo on the 4th of July at the Brownville Concert Hall for “A Celebration of America” featuring beloved music by great American composers such as Leonard Bernstein, George Gershwin, Scott Joplin, Randy Newman, and John Williams!” 

The BrickHouse Duo is the acclaimed string duo of violinist Peter Wilson and cellist Jennifer Kloetzel. The duo was founded in 2017, each performer bringing a wealth of artistry to the concert stage with decades of combined experience.

The performance is free and open to the public. Tickets not required. Donations always appreciated.

Tim Connell

Critically acclaimed actor, singer, storyteller, Tim Connell makes his debut concert appearance at the Brownville Concert Series alongside Musical Director James Followell. The evening's program will invite the audience to take a journey with him as he celebrates his Irish heritage and his ancestors who ventured to America. Then on to celebrate the spirit and soul of America through the American Songbook, classic folk, Broadway and other traditional tunes.

Broadway to Brownville

Amra-Faye Wright (Broadway Star of Chicago) and Mark Hummel (Broadway Musical Director/Conductor/Arranger) will present a fun evening of their favorite Show tunes, with belters such as The Man That Got Away, and The World Goes Round, as well as a nod to Piaf and Coward. Act 2 is a celebration of Kander and Ebb, composers of the hit shows Cabaret, Chicago, The Act, New York New York, and many more!
