The Mayo Clinic Division of Community Internal Medicine is pleased to offer this new program to provide family practitioners, internists, general practitioners, advanced nurse practitioners and physician assistants with current information on the care of the elderly, including clinical evaluation, management strategies and innovative practice models.

Target Audience
This course is designed for primary care providers, internists, family physicians, advanced nurse practitioners, and physician assistants who provide care for elderly patients, including those living in the community, assisted living and nursing home settings.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify the best types of exercise for older adults and develop a tailored exercise plan to preserve function and independence
- Review optimal management of osteoporosis in the “oldest old”
- Discuss cases and conundrums involving antibiotic stewardship in long-term care
- Develop a pragmatic approach towards diagnosing and managing dementia
- Describe the impact of COVID-19 on older adults and ways to improve care delivery in future pandemic situations
