Friday 20th August

3 - 5 pm - Merton Abbey Mills

Willow Bough and Rogue Opera are delighted to present Opera & Afternoon Tea at SW19 Bar in Merton Abby Mills

Take advantage of summer hours on Friday 20th of August and join us as we make your heart and taste buds sing!

Rogue Opera's Bronwen Stephens-Harding will curate a beautiful selection of opera arias and songs, accompanied by Guy Murgatroyd on piano, taking you on a journey through some of the best stories and characters in opera.

Willow Bough's delicious homemade Afternoon Tea  includes handmade scones served with jam and clotted cream; slices of sandwich cake, cupcakes and finger sandwiches (with traditional, vegetarian, and gluten free options available)

Tickets are just £35 per person, and include a free class of Prosecco or Sparking soft drink on arrival

Tickets are available as singles, or in tables of 2, 3 and 4. If you have a larger party choose the appropriate ticket combination and we will endeavour to seat you together.

On the day, you are welcome to arrive from 2:45 pm to be seated. You will be offered a glass of Prosecco or a non-alcoholic drink on arrival and your sandwiches will be served for the first half.

The opera performance will begin at 3:15 and the sweet part of your afternoon tea (cakes and scones) will be served in the interval at 4pm to enjoy during the second half of the programme. The bar will be open throughout with table service through ordering via the SW19 Bar app.

Bronwen, Mezzo-Soprano and Director of Rogue Opera, accompanied by pianist Guy Murgatroyd, will take you on a journey through some favourite opera pieces including well known favourites and hidden gems. In true Rogue Opera style, each piece will be introduced with tidbits of information about the characters, music and drama, making it a wonderful experience for the opera connoisseur and the opera-curious alike!

We're looking forward to seeing you there!

Best wishes
