Target Audience

This course is designed for internists, hospitalists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, advanced practice nurses, registered nurses, and allied health from novice to experienced. 

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe three ways how to prioritize your day when caring for multiple high acuity hospitalized patients.
  • Describe how to provide high-level care to all patients based on the most recent practice guidelines, medical evidence and standards of care.
  • Describe four early signs and symptoms consistent with sepsis syndrome.
  • Describe the most recent treatment guidelines from the Surviving Sepsis Campaign.
  • Discuss three signs or symptoms of a patient who has developed an acute exacerbation of heart failure and name three initial appropriate treatment options for hospitalized patients.
  • Discuss two ways to improve mortality rates and decrease recurrent exacerbation's for patients with chronic heart failure.

Scenic Route:
Take I-95 to Exit 358A. Go East on Route 105 (North Heckscher Drive) and follow the signs to Amelia Island.

From the North:
