Wonderful write up in the New Zealand Herald today featuring 10x10's Head of Aotearoa Alaina McGregor talking about the impact 10x10 funding and connections can have on early stage social purpose organisations 💵 🧡 🤝 The article shares the story of Orange Sky New Zealand who were on the 10x10 stage in 2022... "The night Edward Uini (Orange Sky NZ) pitched in front of the 10x10 donors, he not only walked away with the $10,000 and a hug from a tearful Stubbs, but made valuable connections. Some of the audience became volunteers, others offered their skills to help promote the charity. And Sam Stubbs (Founder of Kiwisaver) invited Uini to pitch to Simplicity’s charitable arm, which has since donated $75,000 to Orange Sky, including $25,000 this year to launch a laundry van in Hawke’s Bay in August. McGregor says those connections made in front of a live audience were as valuable as the money. 10x10′s target demographic is Gen Z and millennials — smart, skilled young people who are willing to help." 🙏 Thank you Jane Phare for the write up If you haven't made your pledge to attend for the Auckland event on 7 May yet, we suggest you do quick.. only a few places left 🤗 https://lnkd.in/gn-9Dj4T

Sophie has been an outstanding Head of City for Brisbane and has made waves of impact in just a short space of time. Some highlights from Sophie’s involved include: - Leading the Brisbane Event Committee in 2022 to breaking attendance and donation records - still one of our largest and most impactful 10x10 events to date - Discovering multiple SPOs who have gone on to receive additional venture philanthropy funding from CCCF: TIACS (This Is A Conversation Starter) and Save our Supplies - Championing a corporate event with her current employer TEN13 and through this introducing 10x10 to the VC and start up community in Brisbane - Raising a total of $518,724, showcasing nine SPOs and providing guidance to three event committees Sophie, we are incredibly grateful for the time and commitment you have made to 10x10 and we look forward to seeing you as a familiar face in the audience at future events! We’d also like to take this opportunity to welcome our new Heads of 10x10 Brisbane; Yas Grigaliunas, Sarah Smith, and Caroline Starecky. All three women have been involved with 10x10 event committees in Brisbane in 2022 and 2023 and will bring a wealth of connections, experience and knowledge of early stage organisations; both in the not-for-profit and for profit sector. If you’re interested in volunteering with Yas, Caroline and Sarah to support the next 10x10 Brisbane events in 2024 and 2025 please get in touch! We will be kicking off our next Brisbane Committee in mid-May for an event in late July. Get in touch if you’d like to be considered for this next committee.

It is clear grassroots social purpose organisations lack access to crucial early stage capital and fundraising networks. At 10x10 we find and champion the best of these organisations to deliver real change and we match them with the next generation of philanthropists and venture philanthropy partners to catalyse their growth and impact. Because, big change requires a collective.
