This state-of-the-art update on Multiple Sclerosis and Autoimmune Neurology is designed to provide Evidence-Based Strategies that focus on practical clinical management from a multidisciplinary approach when treating patients with these neurologic disorders. We welcome a variety of specialists, primary care physicians, and advanced health care providers who have a specific interest in this field. Intended Audience: Neurologists and all health care providers who treat patients with neurologic disorders. The format will include the latest clinical and laboratory research presented through didactic lecture, case vignettes, interactive Q & A sessions, and the opportunity for open discussions with the faculty.

Course attendees are invited to submit patient case vignettes for faculty presentation. Send your submissions to: mca.cme@mayo.edu and add a subject line: MS 2019 Case (due no later than January 25, 2019)

    Target Audience

    This course is designed to update the entire multidisciplinary team, including neurologists, primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and all health care providers who treat patients with neurologic disorders.

    Learning Objectives

    Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

    • Cite the mechanism of action, indications, and adverse events associated with recently-approved MS and autoimmune neurology disease-modifying therapies.
    • Describe the clinical, laboratory and neuroimaging characteristics of neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders.
    • Implement strategies for selecting first and subsequent disease-modifying therapies for patients with relapsing or progressive MS.
    • Describe the clinical, laboratory and neuroimaging characteristics of myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein-associated disorders.
    • Identify appropriate management of common MS symptoms.
