Science Rendezvous Victoria – May 11, 2024!
Join us for a free day of exploration related to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) — full of fun activities, exciting demos and interesting research. For K-12 students, educators and science enthusiasts of all ages.
This event is free and no registration is required.
Schedule of Events
Science Rendezvous Victoria will run from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024. While most activities will be available all day, certain activities and presentations will be offered at specific times. Please view the ‘Schedule’ tab at the top of this page for a full list of activities and times.
Accessibility
We are committed to making our event as accessible and barrier-free as possible. If you have any accessibility needs in order to participate in our event, please contact us at scirenyyj-centorg@oceannetworks.ca.
- Building access: All UVic and Camosun buildings are accessible to people with differing mobility issues and mobility aids.
- Distraction-reduced environment: Science Rendezvous Victoria will open at 9:30 a.m. at both locations and feature a distraction-reduced environment (quieter and less busy) from 9:30 a.m. – 10 a.m.
- Pet therapy: We are grateful to partner with the Pacific Animal Therapy Society to bring therapy dogs to both event locations.
- Transportation: Paid parking is available close to each venue (see below for details). Both venues are also accessible via transit.
- Washrooms: Accessible washrooms are available at both locations. All-gender washrooms are available at both locations as well.
Food options
New this year, the UVic location of Science Rendezvous Victoria will have food trucks providing food for purchase next to the Bob Wright Centre. Get your coffee, snacks and lunch without having to leave the event!
Unfortunately, food is not available at our Camosun location this year.
Parking
Parking is available at both the UVic and Camosun campuses.
- UVic: Paid parking is available near the event location. We’d recommend choosing to park Parking Lot 1.
- Camosun: Paid parking is available near the event location. We’d recommend choosing to park in Parking Lot 8.
Photography and videography
We encourage participants to take pictures during Science Rendezvous. Please tag us if posting on social media — we’d love to see your pictures!
Please note: The University and College will be taking pictures and video during the event to share on social media and use for future promotional material. Photos that show children’s faces clearly will not be used. Please talk to a photographer/videographer if you do not wish to be in any promotional images.
