Here's your amazing line-up...

James Cook - Compere

James Cook is a professional comedian based in Birmingham, UK, with over 1,000 gigs worth of experience as an act and compere. He has performed two shows at the Edinburgh Fringe – Adventures on Air (the one about the radio) and Always Be Rolling (the one about board games). His act has been described as “truly original” (Danny Wallace (off the telly)), whereas he’s been called “suave and chirpy” by that publishing powerhouse, the Bromsgrove Advertiser, and a “sarcastic raconteur” by the Leeds Metro. For some reason, this means that he has been likened to “the future Frank Skinner” (Birmingham Metro) and “Dylan Moran’s younger brother” (The Stage). How this is possible remains a mystery. A slightly less lazy journalist said that he “shows scant regard for the hackneyed conventions of stand-up” (The Scotsman) which, he’s been assured, is a Good Thing. His two favourite quotes are that he “destroyed my concrete belief that all comperes are twats” (eyeonmoseley.com) and that “his quick tongue and dry sense of humour kept me laughing” (BBC Tees).

James won a Jongleurs/Spike Milligan award for being the funniest person in the Midlands in 2003. It’s been ten years and they haven’t asked for it back, so he’s assuming it must still be him. From 2004 – 2010, James worked as a presenter on three commercial radio stations (none of which exist anymore) during which time he went onstage with A-ha, presented Lenny Henry with his Walk Of Fame Star and was a guest judge on the Dancing On Ice tour at the Nottingham Arena in front of 10,000 people. The experiences would inform the writing of his first solo Edinburgh show ‘Adventures on Air’.

Darren Harriott - Headliner

Darren Harriott shines as a dynamic and captivating comedian making waves in the circuit. With notable appearances on Live at the Apollo, BBC’s News Jack Unplugged, and CBBC’s The Dog Ate My Homework, he’s a familiar face on panel shows like Mock the Week and Don’t Hate the Playaz. He’s not just about comedy, but also gives his witty take on reality shows like The Apprentice: You’re Fired and The Great British Bake Off: Extra Slice. As a Comedy Central favorite, he’s graced shows like The Comedy Bus and Roast Battle. His creative prowess extends to writing and recording the series Black Label on BBC Radio 4.

Hailing from Birmingham and now based in London, Darren’s comedic charm shines on stages like Soho Theatre, 99 Club, Top Secret, and The Glee. His confident performances delve into subverting stereotypes, everyday observations, and even thought-provoking topics like religion. Having earned Edinburgh nominations and a Birmingham mural celebrating his stardom, Darren Harriott is an exciting talent leaving an indelible mark. Don’t miss his side-splitting shows that embrace the cutting edge with style.

The year 2023 brought a new adventure as Harriott took to the ice as a contestant on the fifteenth series of “Dancing on Ice.” His versatility and determination continue to impress as he embraces each opportunity that comes his way.

Jo Enright

For more than a decade Jo Enright has worked with many of the UK’s leading comedy writers and directors. As a regular collaborator with Ricky Gervais and Peter Kay, Jo has starred on numerous Netflix, HBO, BBC, ITV and Channel 4 productions. Amongst other performances Jo has recently appeared in Ricky Gervais' 2022 Netflix smash hit Afterlife, Guz Khan's Man Like Mobeen, Peter Kay's much loved Phoenix Nights and Steve Coogan's I’m Alan Partridge. She received rave reviews for playing the female lead Sue, in Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's HBO series Life’s Too Short, and the part of Angela in three series of the ITV and Netflix's The Job Lot.

Alongside acting Jo is also a highly acclaimed stand up comedienne, appearing on many TV shows and touring all over the world performing her stand up. Jo has been Comedian of the year at the Leicester Comedy Festival, won the Chortle Award for ‘The Best Female Circuit Comic’ and the 'Best Female on the Jongleurs Comedy Circuit’ award.

“Jo Enright is one of the most naturally gifted comic talents I’ve ever seen. I’d put her in the same league as Julie Walters.” - Peter Kay

A great comedienne.” - Jack Dee

Pete Tekman

Pete Teckman is a late starter. Marriage, fatherhood and a comedy career came to him late in life and from his rapidly advancing years he takes a hilarious look at how he got to where he is today and what life has left to offer a short bald man in a tall and hairy world.

Since his stand up debut in February 2008 Pete Teckman has made the progression from open mic nights and gong shows through to regular work thanks to his ability to produce laughs from any audience with a mix of self deprecating and observational humour as well as some surreal flights of fancy and a liberal sprinkling of well crafted gags.
