This course will provide the latest, state-of-the-art information on the diagnosis and management of common disorders such as Esophageal cancer; eosinophilic esophagitis; anti-coagulation; obesity medical and endoscopic options, acute pancreatitis; hereditary aspects of gastrointestinal cancer; managing complications of cirrhosis and portal hypertension; update on cholestatic and autoimmune liver disorders; hepatitis B and C - current therapies; and controversies in liver transplantation.

Gastroenterology objectives:
- Describe and compare current endoscopic and surgical management of early esophageal cancer
- Explain innovative endoscopic techniques and medical options for treatment of obesity
- Evaluate current views on the pathogenesis of acute pancreatitis
- Describe the implications and the management of eosinophilic esophagitis
- Explain practical implications of prescribed and OTC anti-coagulation-related substances
- Describe the latest, state-of-the-art experts’ thinking on the hereditary aspects of gastro-intestinal malignancies
Hepatology ojectives:
- Review the management of complications stemming from cirrhosis and portal hypertension
- Appraise current and emerging care paradigms for autoimmune and cholestatic liver disease
- Define the latest hepatitis B and C treatment guidelines
- Evaluate alcoholic hepatitis treatment and assess controversies in the use of liver transplantation for alcoholic hepatitis
