Viva Colombia!

18.03.2018
#FLAWA2020 has prepared a night of non-stopping dance with Ms Nina, a young multidisciplinary artist from Argentina currently based in Spain. She achieved international recognition as a net artist, exhibiting at Junior High (Los Angeles), La Térmica and La Fresh Gallery, one of the most prestigious galleries in Spain. Her musical career has made her one of the key figures to understand the Latin rhythms that sound in Europe.

From the classic Discos Fuentes 70s/80s era to carnival sounds, we'll be transporting you from the bustling musical hubs of Bogota and Medellin to the Caribbean coast, Barranquilla's Carnival vibes, Cartagena and Valledupar with the feeling of Cumbia and Vallenato parrandas, the Cali salsa style and Afro-Latin rhythms from some of the finest Colombian musicians around in the shape of Conjunto Sabroso plus special guests Nirk Molina "UK Vallenato Kings" to bring the best colombian vibes.

Conjunto Sabroso are one of London’s most established and popular Latin bands, renowned for their authentic swing and lively presence on stage, featuring vibrant horns and powerful percussion, keeping audiences glued to the dance floor wherever they play. Led by outstanding multi – percussionist Wilmer Sifontes and fronted by charismatic Colombian singer Luz Elena Caicedo, the band has brought together some of the most experienced musicians in the Latin circuit, to produce their own distinctive and original sound.

Nirk Molina well known as UK's "King of Vallenato" is one of the shining lights of the Colombian/cumbia and Vallenato London scene. Playing in many of the established London tropical bands he has now put his own outfit together playing a mix of folkloric cumbia and Vallenato classics including his own compositions. Nirk Molina with embodies the very soul of Latin America Vallenato, which originated in the Valle de Upar in northeastern Colombia, has roots in African, European, and native Colombian music. However, Molina and his musicians have brought it into the London mainstream and have also introduced it to audiences around the world.

On the decks DJ Cal Jader & Carlitos Nino will bring the past, present and future of Colombian sounds and latin american music to recreate a modern colombian Bailoteca with a London twist.

Combine this with the festive, happy, loveable and fun-loving people and you have a great party on your hands!
