“Legacies” 2023 will bring together a collection of talks which will reflect on the lessons of the past, empower the audience of the present, and envisage a better future for all. Through ground-breaking ideas and inspirational stories, TEDxWarwick annual conference will answer the question: what legacy do we want to leave behind?
MICHAEL BRONSTEIN
Professor Michael Bronstein if one of the world-leading pioneers in the field of Artificial Intelligence. As the DeepMind Professor of AI at the University of Oxford - and the head of Graph Learning at Twitter – his work on geometric deep learning is truly shaping the future. His work has merited a myriad of awards, including the ‘World Economic Forum Young Scientist of the Year’ (2014) and the Wolfson Society Research Merit Award (2018).
L'MYAH SHERAE
L’myah Sherae is the founder and director of Enact Equality, which is a non-profit organisation that has built an anti-racist movement made up of businesses, brands, celebrities and organisations, whilst also creating a cross-party alliance of politicians at local, national and government level. Working with some of the UK’s most renowned leaders, L’myah is also the founder of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Race Equality in Education, where MPs and Peers spanning different political parties have joined together to campaign for greater equality in education. L’myah has held a variety of roles at the Houses of Parliament over a number of years, and she is the 2018 winner of the Outstanding Woman Award due to her work in inspiring equality in politics.

NUPUR GADKARI
A triple Masters in Management and Marketing, and winner of various coveted Industry awards for her Marketing Campaigns in India and South Asia, Nupur is passionate about Building Brands and Legacies. Born and Bred in Mumbai, India, 2 years ago, Nupur published her book of poems Verses & Sonnets - Freshly Brewed which went on to become an International Best Seller, and Amazon no 1. Her passion for the environment combined with Marketing led her to introduce the fifth P in the Marketing Mix, Planet. Nupur has always been known for her creativity and has her own art handle where she displays her 3D art, Oil and Acrylic Painting and many others. She was also named the 'Best of Best' MBAs and 'MBAs to Watch' as a Woman in Business. Nupur leads Trivandi Ltd in their Brand and Marketing as the Global Director and is a firm believer of being 'independent' and 'self-made'.
KRISTIN ENGVIG
A global pioneer for women and authentic leadership, Kristin created WIN 25 years ago to bring alive a vision of a more feminine, global and sustainable way at work. Thousands of individuals and hundreds of world-class companies have attended WIN’s live experiences across Europe as well as in India, Nigeria, Japan and the UAE. She was recently awarded the EuroKnowledge Outstanding Women Leadership Award and has also been recognized by the CEO for Life Awards, Diversity Global Magazine and the International Alliance of Women. In her early career she worked for JP Morgan, Citibank and Innovation Norway, EU and as a strategy and marketing consultant. A business economist (BI, Oslo) with an MBA (Milan’s Bocconi), she has also completed a wealth of interdisciplinary studies including acting and yoga. She attends global meetings such as the W7 of the G7 and the Nobel Peace Prize Forum, and she also chaired the Women in Leadership meeting at the Davos SDG tent in 2020.
SHIVANI PAU
Shivani is the Founder of the podcast "A Millennial Mind", which ranks in the top 1.5% globally, as well as the productivity platform "My Performance Planner". A Warwick Business School graduate, Shivani has more recently coached and mentored leaders with specific tools and practices to increase their employee engagement, staff retention, and overall team performance and productivity. Shivani's talk explores the idea that while there is nothing wrong with having rules or structure, we don’t all need to follow the same path in life. There is no secret formula for success, and her talk will elucidate how conformity has led to a lack of motivation and creativity throughout her personal journey.
ADELE PARKS
British born author Adele Parks is the author of 22 bestselling novels including the recent Sunday Times Number One hits Lies Lies Lies and Just My Luck. Over four and a half million UK editions of her work have been sold and her books have been translated into 31 different languages. She is an ambassador of the National Literacy Trust and the Reading Agency: two charities that promote literacy in the UK. Adele also writes for national media including The Times, Guardian, The Telegraph and appears regularly on TV as a spokesperson for the publishing industry. In 2022 she was awarded an MBE - a British order of chivalry – by His Majesty King Charles III for services to literature.
JOEL FEARON
Joel Fearon is a British Olympic medallist in both athletics and bobsleigh, being the seventh Brit to run 100m in under ten seconds and finishing with a bronze medal in bobsledding in the Sochi Winter Olympics. He champions that he is just an ordinary guy who has gone on to do these extraordinary things. Through hard work, determination and resilience, his journey serves as an inspiration not only to those in the sports world but an example to anyone striving to make their mark, no matter how ‘average’ you see yourself as. If he can create this great legacy from a background like any of ours, you can too.
ANNA MATHUR
Anna Mathur is a psychotherapist and best-selling author. She is also the host of the highly popular “The Therapy Edit” podcast, which focuses on how to cope with becoming a parent in the modern world. Her work has been highly influential in breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and parenthood.
CHRISTIAN NYAKANYANGA
Christian Nyakanyanga is a Doctoral Researcher at Warwick Business School researching the impact of digital security on ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) investments.
Christian is an MBA graduate and a certified information systems security professional with experience managing multi-national enterprise cyber risks.
NIKLAS ZENNSTRÖM
Niklas Zennström is CEO and Founding Partner at the London-headquartered venture capital firm Atomico, investing in gamechanging tech companies. He is an experienced technology investor and entrepreneur, having previously co-founded and managed globally successful technology companies including Skype, Kazaa and Joltid. He currently sits on the boards of Lilium, Infarm, Vay, Rekki and H&M. In 2007, he co-founded Zennström Philanthropies with his wife, Catherine. They invest strategically in two areas: human rights and the environment. Niklas also sits on the international advisory board of the Stockholm Resilience Centre.
