Let's eliminate HPV-related diseases
About us
The INTERNATIONAL PAPILLOMAVIRUS SOCIETY is the global authority on the human papillomavirus (HPV). Our mission is to help eliminate HPV-related diseases like certain types of cancer. Each year hundreds of thousands of people die from HPV-related cancers, many of which could be prevented through vaccination, screening and timely treatment. Global awareness about HPV is lower than with other common health conditions. We are determined to change this situation. To eliminate HPV-related diseases, IPVS: • promotes rigor and excellence in HPV-related research • strives to raise global awareness and understanding about HPV • advocates for better public policies to reduce the risk of HPV-related illness. • Cultivates the exchange of ideas, knowledge and evidence-based research among basic, clinical and public health professionals concerned with HPV and associated diseases. • Conducts an annual awareness campaign each March to help educate the public about HPV • Supports career development for young professionals involved in papillomavirus-related research. • Partners and works together with other societies, institutions and organisations that share our objectives. IPVS is a global society open to membership for professionals from around the world who have a relevant in HPV-related research and closely related fields. We welcome young professionals in the early stages of their career in this field where so much is happening. HPV Awareness Day is March 4th. Check out our Awareness Campaign AskAboutHPV.org
