The Racine Library Chess Mates is a USCF (US Chess Federation) affiliate club of the Racine Chess Mates. Racine Chess Mates is a nonprofit and a partnership between RUSD Extended Learning & EL Chess Academics LLC. Racine Chess Mates strives to teach Social and Emotional Learning chess and will have "Chess Piece Summits" at Racine schools, community centers, and cop houses. The purpose of the club is developing a chess resource that serves our community.
Racine Library Chess Mates meet bi-weekly on Wednesdays to play casual chess and is led by USCF-TD member Jeff Garcia. Sessions will be open play - meaning that there will be chess boards for players to play against any other available players. Jeff may be available to facilitate, teach and/or be your opponent. In the times Jeff can't make it, there may be other facilitators from the Chess Mates organization of Racine that may attend, and players are still welcome to take part in the open play. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Each person that plans to play will need to sign up individually. Anyone is welcome!
