Conference Overview

The San Diego Day of Trauma is a nationally accredited continuing medical education conference designed for physicians, nurses, physician assistants and first responders in the fields of trauma, emergency, and critical care medicine. Nationally renowned speakers will present state of the art management of life threatening emergencies commonly encountered in the field. Conference speakers will include specialists in the fields of pre-hospital care, trauma surgery, and critical care. Lectures, real-life case presentations, and interactive sessions will engage attendees and promote improved patient outcomes.

Physicians

Scripps Health is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

 

Nurses and Nurse Practitioners

For the purpose of recertification, the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME.

 

For the purpose of re-licensure, the California Board of Registered Nursing accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ for attendance at structured learning activities offered by organizations accredited by the ACCME.

 

The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certified Program (AANPCP) and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) accept AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ from organizations accredited by the ACCME.

 

Emergency Medicine

This course will be reviewed by San Diego County EMS Provider #37-230 to determine contact hours.


Physician Assistants

NCCPA accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ from organizations accredited by the ACCME.


Pharmacists

The California Board of Pharmacy accepts as continuing professional education those courses that meet the standard of relevance to pharmacy practice and have been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.

Cultural & Linguistic Competency and Implicit Bias

This activity is designed to include curriculum addressing the topics of cultural and linguistic competency (CLC) and implicit bias (IB) in compliance with California Business and Professions (B&P) Code Section 2190. All those involved in the planning and execution of this activity have been asked to identify and discuss issues relevant to the topics being covered. In addition, a variety of resources are available that address cultural and linguistic competency and implicit bias. A resource document can be downloaded from the Conference Details section above.

Maintenance of Certification

American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA)

This activity contributes to the CME component of the American Board of Anesthesiology’s redesigned Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology™ (MOCA®) program, known as MOCA 2.0®. Please consult the ABA website, www.theABA.org, for a list of all MOCA 2.0 requirements.


American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS)

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery’s Maintenance of Certification program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABOS credit.


American Board of Surgery (ABS)

Successful completion of this CME activity enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME requirement(s) of the American Board of Surgery’s Continuous Certification program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABS credit.


MOC points will be awarded to physicians who successfully complete the requirements outlined in the post-activity evaluation. Points earned will be reported to the appropriate specialty board approximately 60 days post conference as long as all learner requirements are met. These credits will not appear on your CME certificate from Scripps.

Attendance and Cancellation Policies

Attendee Cancellation, Substitution, Refund

The course tuition is refundable, minus a $100 processing fee (MD, DO, RN, PA, NP) or a $50 processing fee (Fellow, Resident, Student, First Responder), if your cancellation is received in writing no later than Friday, October 18, 2024. Attendee substitutions are allowed, but notification must be made in writing by Friday, October 18, 2024. After this date, under no circumstances will refunds, credits, or substitutions be granted. No refunds or credits will be given to “no shows.” No refunds shall be made for cancellations due to inclement weather.


Scripps Conference Modification or Cancellation

Scripps reserves the right to modify the course’s schedule or program as necessary. Scripps also reserves the right to cancel this conference, in which case a full refund of the registration fee will be provided. Attendees who purchase non-refundable airline tickets do so at their own risk. Scripps encourages the purchase of travel insurance as we are unable to refund any travel costs (flight, hotel, etc.) in the case of Scripps cancellation.


Health and Safety Waiver and Assumption of Risk

By completion and submission of the online registration form, attendees certify that they have read and fully understand the Health and Safety Waiver and Assumption of Risk Agreement.


Family and Guest Attendance Policy

All conference activities are exclusively reserved for paid conference attendees. Children and family members are not allowed to attend meal functions or permitted in the general session room. 


Recording and Photography Clause

Scripps reserves exclusive rights to record (audio and video) and/or photograph all conference proceedings for use in marketing materials, presentations and course content sales.
