Cardiology Update: The Heart of the Matter 2019 features a wide spectrum of the latest updates in congestive heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, coronary artery disease, cardiac arrhythmias, congenital heart disease, anticoagulation, preventive cardiology, sports cardiology and valvular heart disease, among others. ABIM MOC and nursing credit will also be offered.

Target Audience
This course is designed for practicing cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, specialists and trainees in internal medicine, emergency medicine and family medicine, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, and staff with a cardiovascular interest.
Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Assess indications, use, and limitations of different types of anticoagulants in a diverse spectrum of cardiovascular diseases.
- Evaluate peri-procedure management of anticoagulation in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation.
- Recite the current indications and contra-indications for TAVR, mitral valve clip and potential new indications for percutaneous tricuspid valve replacement.
- Apply the latest hypertension and cardiovascular (CV) guidelines to improve overall morbidity/mortality rates.
- Describe practice changes to improve care for patients with congenital heart disease.
- Summarize guidelines to increase preventive care for patients with CV diseases.
- Apply current guidelines for the treatment of congestive heart failure (CHF.)
- Describe clinical features of primary pulmonary arterial hypertension.
- Describe cardiovascular adaptation to exercise and review risks and benefits of exercise in patients with cardiovascular diseases

Sedona Rouge is located 6.3 miles (16 minute drive) from the Enchantment at 2250 West State Route 89A, Sedona, AZ 86336.
We have reserved a limited block of guest rooms at the Sedona Rouge as an overflow option for attendees with a special rate of $168 (plus tax) single or double occupancy per night. Group rates will be extended up to 3 days prior and 3 days following the course dates, based on room type and rate availability. There is a $25 charge for each adult after two in the same room. Children under age 17 stay in the same room with parents at no additional charge as long as the maximum occupancy in the room does not exceed four.
The resort fee of $25 per room, per day will be waived and attendees are offered 10% off any spa treatments. Please identify yourself as a part of the Mayo Clinic Group when making reservations to receive the special group rates.
Lodging arrangements are the sole responsibility of the individual registrant.

ABIM MOC
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 22.50 medical knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit. Participation information will be shared with ABIM through PARS.

When cancelling a registration for a course 14 days or more before the course start date, a full refund (minus a $75 administrative fee) will be issued in the same form of payment the registration was received.
