Hammond funk jazz from mod band The Gene Drayton Unit at Hideaway Jazz Club London

Hammond fuelled, horn heavy funk, jazz and R&B goodness as the Gene Drayton Unit mark their return with the launch of their latest EP “Back On The Scene’.

Having already served up a feast of instrumental goodness with three studio albums under their belt, this five piece power line up took a break from gigging and recording and have been much missed on venue and festival stages across the UK and Europe.

Now very much back in the groove, GDU are back doing what they do best… playing to live audiences with Toby Kinder driving Hammond organ like a sports-car, and sax-player Mark Norton finding any empty table-top to hop on and play from, plus the dynamic rhythm section of Raydn Hunter (bass) and Mark Claydon (drums) providing a rock-solid foundation for the arrangements with Lenny Bignell's Gibson SG guitar sound just adding the cherry on the top.
