IEEE COMCAS 2023 Session Highlight - Security in the Blockchain Era: Challenges and a Look to the Future In distributed computing, the data is shared across multiple servers that wish to collaborate with the aim of providing a joint service while preserving some security properties such as privacy, correctness, fairness, etc. Motivated by platforms such as blockchains, recent research, and implementations aim to achieve decentralized computation over these large-scale domains with specialized communication and computation patterns. These unique platforms introduce new challenges and require new tools. In this panel, we plan to review some of these challenges faced by researchers and developers, better understand the proposed solutions, strategically discuss future directions, and provide valuable insights for those interested in blockchain and its security aspects.
